The current pandemic reminds us of our planetary interconnectedness and the vulnerability of human life despite our illusion of control and mastery. The global environmental crisis questions our way of life and forces us to find new ways.
These times call for renegotiations of the relation between human and nature – and and abolishment of this division to understand ourselves anew, in relation. But how to embody these thoughts and gain tangible experiences of what this means?
I will start in Jægersborggade and move east to uncover hidden/forgotten places along the way, where abandonment, decay, growth and uncontrolled circumstances make for liminal territories between the human and other-than-human. Territories that may gain new meaning as the times change.
I will bring books by theorists, philosophers and poets who inspire me. Each hour I will find a place/object and seek to embody a selected quote by using my own body, the bodies of human and more-than-human others and the potentials of each place. I will bring something with me from each place and transplant the sum of my findings to the final destination as incalculable seeds for future entanglements.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Performance and visual artist Nana Francisca Schottländer works with emerging hybrids in the intersection between dance, live performance, installation, situation and photo/video. Her works are often site-specific and revolve around the body: as object, subject, interface, tool, material, somatic archive and empirical chamber of resonance.
The works are performative but also involve documentation of live performances and bodily explorations in the form of photography and video that constitute works in their own right. In later years her work focuses on exchanges, dialogues and co-creative potentials of encounters between human and other-than-human – including rocks, living fungi cultures, landscapes, wind, tidal cycles and more.
Serial works include:
PLEASE BE HERE NOW (Nørgaard på Strøget 2015, Roskilde Festival 2015 and the Hermitage in Søndermarken 2016). HEAVY KINSHIP (FAN OUT 2015, Nørgaard på Strøget 2017, EC1 24H 2018, Social Service Club 2018, KØS Museum 2019 and Heartland Festival 2019). LANDSCAPE-BODYSCAPE-RELATIONSCAPE with projects and concerts as part of INSEPARABLE TOGETHER in Slotfeltladen 2018, Vadehavscentret 2018 and Fanø Forsamlingshus 2019 and solo exhibitions LANDSKABNINGER/LANDFORMATIONS at Statens Museum for Kunst/SMK Thy 2019 and VANDLEGEME/WATERBODY at KunstCentret Silkeborg Bad 2020.
Alongside the serial works she has shown performances at Charlottenborg, Louisiana, SMK Fridays/Thy, Alive Festival and as part of the Sura Medura International Artist’s Residency, Sri Lanka 2019.
NFS is part of the European In Situ programme for artistic creation in public space through KIT/Metropolis 2018-21.
