Swedish Henrik & Louise have performed worldwide, among others as stars at Cirkus Cirkör and in a Russian circus. They have now wiped off the heavy makeup and step behind the façade with an uncensored insight into the strenuous life concealed behind circus’ glitter, glamour and dangerous tricks.
They are partner acrobats and have worked together for 15 years – as partners and as acrobats. A prerequisite in their job is unconditional trust and a tender partnership, where the physical and mental connection is so competent and sensitive that one single touch reveals all about their feelings. But they must work hard to preserve the symbiosis in a life with no boundaries between professional and private life, where it takes a wholehearted dedication and discipline to succeed.
We come close in this moving and intimate docu-performance. Video footage, interviews and diaries from Henrik and Louise’s circus life constitute the raw materials. As a live documentary with artists not only on stage but also on screen, Extreme Symbiosis offers an unfiltered glimpse into an art form and the extreme way of life which is an integral part of it.
