A composition for an apartment building and a symphony orchestra
Meet French composer Pierre Sauvageot, who has composed the piece GRAND ENSEMBLE – a dialogue between an apartment building and a symphony orchestra – with the sounds of a building and of the people living in it.
He explains how the site-specific musical composition opens the walls of the building, like in a doll’s house, to tell about the people on the other side of the walls.
“It’s something you have never seen and never heard before and probably never will see and never hear again”
GRAND ENSEMBLE is performed in Emaljehaven, Copenhagen NV, 15 & 16 June 2018 at 19h00 and 21h00.
